Mad River Township is one of the twelve townships of Champaign County, Ohio, United States. The 2020 census found 2,765 people in the township. No municipalities are located in Mad River Township, although the unincorporated communities of Terre Haute, Thackery and Westville lie in the township’s southwest and northeast respectively.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING
The Mad River Township Board of Zoning Appeals will hold a public meeting to consider a Conditional Use zoning application submitted by Kassie Webb for the establishment of a wedding/event venue on her residential property at 5314 State Route 55, Urbana, OH. The hearing will be held at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at the Mad River Township Building located at 2773 Vance Road, Urbana, OH 43078.

MAD RIVER TOWNSHIP
The Champaign County Engineer, Stephen McCall, has announced that Old Troy Pike in Mad River Township will be closed to through traffic between State Route 560 and Bair Road
Beginning Monday, March 25, 2024 for approximately 8 weeks for the rehabilitation of an existing prestressed concrete box beam bridge over Nettle Creek. The work is being completed by J & J Schlaegel, Inc. at a contract price of $597,878.20. Funding for this project is through the Ohio Department of Transportation and the County Engineer’s share of motor vehicle license fees and gasoline tax.

Notice of Public Hearing
The Mad River Township Board of Trustees, Champaign County, OH, will hold a public hearing concerning proposed amendments to the Mad River Township Zoning Resolution on April 18, 2024 at 7:30pm at the Mad River Township Hall. The building address is 2773 Vance Rd, St Paris, Ohio 43072.
The proposed amendments, initiated by resolution of the Township Trustees propose to amend Solar Energy Related Definitions in Article II Definitions and Section 1044 Solar Energy Systems (Less than 50 MW).
The text and map(s) of the proposed amendment will be available for examination at the Terre Haute Mall between the hours of 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM for a period of 10 days prior to the public hearing. The building address is 5834 State Route 55, Urbana Ohio 43078.
